Installation Instructions

Once wiring is complete, securely fasten the dimmer module into your backbox using either your existing switch screws or the provided screws.

For modules installed into standard faceplates:
  1. Pass the dimming stalk and base through the central faceplate aperture.
  2. Place the washer over the stalk, followed by the securing nut.
  3. Tighten the nut firmly until the module is mounted flush against the plate.
  4. Align the flat edge on the rear of the rotary knob with the flat side of the dimmer stalk, then press firmly into place.

Factory Reset

Perform 4 short presses followed immediately by a long 5th press on the rotary knob.

Confirmation: The LED indicator will glow solid red for 3 seconds once successfully reset.

Note: Resetting clears all network pairings. On the RD1-Pro, this also restores default Dimmer Mode.

Pairing to Your Hub

Works with SmartThings

You will need to install our driver. We recommend you unpair any devices related to the driver you are installing before proceeding.


To install the Candeo Edge driver:

  1. Go to: Candeo SmartThings Edge Drivers
  2. Sign in to your Samsung account.
  3. Click "Enroll".
  4. Click "Available Drivers".
  5. Find your model in the descriptions.
  6. Click "Install" under the driver details.

  1. In your Hubitat web interface, navigate to Drivers Code.
  2. Click + New Driver, then click Import.
  3. Paste the appropriate driver URL from the list below into the import prompt:

Core dimming functions work directly within Philips Hue. An alternative Zigbee coordinator is recommended for advanced parameters.

Important Note: The RD1-Pro will only operate with Philips Hue in Dimmer Mode.
Amazon Echo [Click to Expand ▾]
Amazon Echo

Core dimming functions work natively with compatible Zigbee-enabled Amazon Echo devices.

Other Zigbee 3.0 Platforms [Click to Expand ▾]

Please follow the pairing instructions for your hub. Dimming mode should work, but we can't guarantee other modes will work.

2. Set the Device to Pairing Mode

  1. Set your hub to pairing mode
    • Open your hub’s companion app (Home Assistant, SmartThings, Hubitat, etc.).
    • Select Add Device or Join Device and choose the Zigbee category.
  2. Activate pairing on your RD1
    • Perform 2 short presses followed immediately by a long 3rd press on the rotary knob.
    • LED Feedback: Green and blue LEDs will flash simultaneously. Pairing mode remains active for 3 minutes.
  3. Complete pairing
    • Your hub should locate the unit within 30 seconds, listed as Candeo RD1.
    • The LED will glow solid green briefly upon successful connection.

Choose the mode in which you wish to operate your device before pairing, using the commands given below:

  1. Set your hub to pairing mode
    • Open your hub’s app (SmartThings, Hubitat, Home Assistant, etc.)
    • Select “Add Device” or “Join Device”
    • Choose Zigbee device category
  2. Activate pairing on RD1-Pro
    • Button sequence: 2 short presses + long 3rd press
    • LED confirmation: Green and blue LEDs flash simultaneously
    • Pairing mode lasts 3 minutes
  3. Complete pairing
    • Hub should discover the device within 30 seconds
    • Device will appear as “Candeo RD1”
    • LED will show solid green briefly when successfully paired
