[C310] Pairing to Smart Life



Important notes
  1. This is a dimming plug and only intended for use with lamps. Please do not plug anything into this which is not a lamp.
  2. This dimming plug should not be used with lamps that already have a dimmer attached.
  3. This plug is not intended to be used with LED strips.
  4. This plug should not be used with lamps that are using smart bulbs such as Philips Hue.
  5. Results may vary with lamp loads under 10W.

  1. Make sure your phone is prepared:
    1. Install the Smart Life app from your store (you can scan the qr code or click the links):
    2. Open the app and create an account if you don't already have one
    3. Make sure both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.
  2. Ensure that the dimmer plug is on using the button on the side, and that any physical switches for the lamp are also on.

Pairing using EZ Mode
  1. Open your Smart Life app, and select the plus symbol to add a device.



  2. In the left hand menu, select "Lighting", and select "Light Source (Wi-Fi)".



  3. Select your Wifi network, and enter the password. (Please note that your Wifi network must work on a 2.4Ghz frequency). Click "Next".


  4. Press the button on the side of the plug 3 times in quick succession, and the lamp and LED will blink quickly 3 times (0.5 seconds each) to indicate that the plug is in "EZ" pairing mode.


  5. In the Smart Life app select the option to "Confirm the indicator is blinking or breathing".
    1. Select "Blinking or breathing fast" (You may only see part of this text, along with a bulb blinking fast).



  6. The Smart Life app will find your device and register the device on your Smart Life account.




  7. You will now have the option to rename your plug as you see fit, and be able to control the lamp dimmer in your Smart Life app

  8. If the Smart Life app does not register the smart plug, wait 10 seconds, and try to pair the device using AP Mode (below).

Pairing using AP Mode
  1. Ensure that the dimmer plug is on using the button on the side, and that any physical switches for the lamp are also on.
  2. Open your Smart Life app, and select the plus symbol to add a device.
  3. In the left hand menu, select "Lighting", and select "Light Source (Wi-Fi)"
  4. Select your Wifi network, and enter the password. (Please note that your Wifi network must work on a 2.4Ghz frequency).
  5. Click “Next”.
  6. Press the button on the side of the plug 3 times in quick succession.
    1. If the lamp and LED blink slowly 3 times (1 second each), then the plug is in AP pairing mode - continue to Step 8. alternatively,
    2. If the lamp and LED blink quickly 3 times (0.5 seconds each) then the plug is still in EZ pairing mode. Press the button on the side of the plug again 3 times in quick succession, and the lamp and LED will blink more slowly (1 second each), to indicate that the plug is now ready to be paired in AP Mode.
  7. In the Smart Life app select the option to "Confirm the indicator is blinking or breathing".
  8. Select "Blinking or breathing slowly" (You may only see part of this text, along with a bulb blinking slowly).
  9. You will now need to connect your phone to the Wifi network created by the plug. Click "Reconnect" to open your Wifi settings and select the Wifi network – “SmartLife-XXXX”.
  10. Once connected go back, and Smart Life should continue the process.
  11. The Smart Life app will find your device and register the device on your Smart Life account.
  12. You will now have the option to rename your plug as you see fit, and be able to control the lamp dimmer in your Smart Life app.
