How to Capture a ZHA Advanced Debug Log in Home Assistant
Step 1: Turn On Debug Logging
-
Open Home Assistant in your web browser.
-
Go to Settings → Integrations.
-
Find Zigbee Home Automation (ZHA) and click on it.
-
Click the three dots menu in the top-right corner.
-
Select Enable Debug Logging.
This temporarily records detailed information about your Zigbee network, including pairing attempts.
Step 2: Attempt to Pair Your Device
-
Put your Zigbee device into pairing mode.
-
Try pairing it in Home Assistant as you normally would.
-
Allow a few minutes for the device to communicate so sufficient log data is collected.
Step 3: Download the Log
-
Return to the same three dots menu in the ZHA integration page.
-
Disable debug logging.
-
Home Assistant will automatically create a debug log file.
-
Download the file and send it to us for review.
This log contains all the steps Home Assistant took while pairing your device, which helps identify the issue quickly.
