[CMM-1] How do I pair the Modmote with Home Assistant? (ZHA)



  1. Add the remote to your Home Assistant:
    1. Open your Home Assistant dashboard.
    2. Go to the menu and click on settings.
    3. Click "Devices & Services".
    4. Click the blue "ADD INTEGRATION" button.
    5. Click "Add Zigbee device".
    6. Home Assistant will scan for new zigbee devices.
  2. To put the device in pairing mode, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds using the pin supplied.
    1. The LED at button 1 will blink green to indicate the remote is in pairing mode.

Please note: 
If you haven't installed our modmote quirks, the modmote will typically pair in dimmer mode. you can check and change the mode with the following instructions:
  1. To confirm the mode open the logbook feed.
    1. When pressing button 1, if the most recent activity states “[Device] Remote Button Short Press – Turn On event was fired”, then the device is in “Dimmer” mode.

  2. To change modes, press and hold buttons 3 and 4 simultaneously, until button 1 goes green. 
    1. The Logbook will then report 2 events “[Device] Attribute Updated event was fired”.
  3. To then confirm the Modmote is in “Scene Switch” mode, press button 1 again. 
    1. The Logbook will report 2 events, importantly: “[Device] Remote Button Short Press – Button 1 event was 
      fired”.
